Swansea winger Daniel James to be signed by Manchester United

Swansea expect winger Daniel James to complete his move to Manchester United on Thursday.

Daniel James is apparently closing in on a £15 million ($19m) move to Manchester United, with one outing for Swansea in which he caused “carnage” considered to have piqued the Red Devils’ interest. (Goal)

The deal had been in the channel for last few weeks. Nonetheless, there were intricacies over the sad death of the youngster’s dad. According to the report, James has already agreed personal terms and just needs to have a medical before the move is complete.

Man United’s interest in Dani James first planned towards the end of the season but the move was put on hold after the player’s father, Kevan, died suddenly. With James back in the international squad this week – after telling Ryan Giggs, the Wales manager, that he felt up to joining the squad – the initiatives were set in motion for his transfer to go through.

James will be Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing since he was appointed permanent manager at Old Trafford.

A lot of EPL clubs had been approached to James and he was close to join Leeds in January before the move was broken at the 11th hour.

James emerged through Swansea’s academy after joining from Hull in 2016 and scored five goals in 38 appearances in all competitions this season.

In Wales friendly defeat in Albania last November, he made his senior debut and struck the winner when they beat Slovakia 1-0 in a Euro 2020 qualifier in March.

James is also expected to rejoin the Wales squad before the upcoming qualifiers in Croatia on Saturday and in Hungary next Tuesday.
